"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.”
Charles R. Swindoll
I know we are all guilty of living in the past, or focusing too much on the future. "I should have...", "I'm going to...", People say these things all the time. The past and the future don't matter because they don't exist. Its healthy to learn from the past or look forward to the future, but there is a lot of harm to be done by spending too much time thinking about either. The choices we make now are where the focus needs to be.
100% of all the best things that have happened to me have been from taking a chance and making a choice. If you really think about it, I'm sure that's the case for you too. Deciding to do something when everything inside of you says not to. Making the difficult choice and waiting to see what happens.
So today, think about the choices you make... will you take hold of what you want today... will you be the driver or the car?
